Center For Teaching Thinking And Innovation (CenT-TI) was founded in 2014 and began actively involved in conducting short courses, workshops and seminars for teachers, educators and academicians in several pedagogical approaches such as Problem Solving for mathematics, Thinking-based learning (TBL) and Thinking Routines (for all subjects).

Education is not just about disseminating information to the learners. Rather it is about developing the minds of the learners so that they are able to think critically and creatively to solve non-routine problems and perform skillful decision making. Hence teachers should be given the opportunity to learn the relevant pedagogical knowledge that will enable them to infuse or integrate HOT (Higher-order thinking) skills into their content instructions.

Pedagogical approaches such as Problem Solving, Thinking-Based Learning (TBL) and Thinking Routines are important in developing critical thinking, creative thinking and innovation among learners. These are the basic pedagogical knowledge that I believe that teachers should be exposed before students could be guided to work on Problem-based learning and Project-based learning or other modes of pedagogy.

Our Center For Teaching Thinking And Innovation (CenT-TI) at UMCCed is committed in providing training for teachers and academicians on how to infuse or integrate HOT skills such as critical thinking and creative thinking into content instructions Our team of trainers/academicians have more than 45 over years of experience in conducting short courses and workshops both for local educators/academicians and educators from other countries.
